Voicemail Forwarding

Hello,

We are running call manager and unity 7.0.  We have an extension being forwarded to another extension.  However, if the person who the calls are being forwarded to does not answer they do not go to her voicemail.  Instead, the calls go back to the voicemail of the extension called (which has been removed from unity).

How can I make it to where the voicemail of the extension that the calls are being forwarded to picks up?

Is Extension_A which is forwarded to Extension_B in use anywhere?  Meaning, is there any time where Extension_A is not forwarded?  IOW, if Extension_A is in a permanently forwarded state have you tried removing Extension_A as a DN on a phone and configuring it as a translation pattern that changes the called party to Extension_B.  Then, when the call is forwarded, Extension_B is listed as the original redirecting party?

Another option would be to add an alternate extension (Extension_A) to user_B.  User_B is the voicemail user who has a primary mailbox extension equal to Extension_B.  In unity connection, you can edit User_B and go to Edit>Alternate Extensions and add Extension_A as an alternate.  That would integrate to the correct VM as well.

Now, neither of these options works for you if Extension_A can be forwarded to other extensions (like Extension_C, Extension_D, etc.)

Assuming you only want to do this for this particular case then follow Bill's suggestion.

If you want this behavior for all calls read how to do it here:

I went with your second suggestion and it's doing exactly what I want it to do.  Thank you!
