XML code to Add Phone on CME

Hi ,

Can anyone provide me code for adding phones through CME GUI.

Trying to create a web customer admin for L1 support, just want to give them access to add phones thats it.

Hi Abhishek,

CME has three level access

•System  administrator—Able to configure all system-level and phone-based  features. This person is familiar with Cisco IOS software and VoIP  network configuration.

•Customer  administrator—Able to perform routine phone additions and changes  without having access to system-level features. This person does not  have to be familiar with Cisco IOS software.

•Phone  user—Able to program a small set of features on his or her own phone  and search the Cisco Unified CME directory. In Cisco Unified CME GUI  4.2.1 and later versions, phone users can use the GUI to set up personal  speed dials for an Extension Mobility phone. The same credential for  logging into an Extension Mobility phone can be used to log into the  Cisco Unified CME GUI.

Thanks for your prompt response , but when i configure customer admin it seems the access level is same as system admin one.

Hi

What XML file you are using. You will have to modify XML file ad upload it again in CME to get your requirement done.

created a simple xml file from notepad and saved it as .xml file. When i go and do web customize load webadmin.xml it gives me error

"cannot parse customization file webadmin.xml, aborted"

After upload it in flash do following

Router(config)# telephony-service

Router(config-telephony)# web customize load filename

and

telephony-service

  web admin customer name username password string

You may be able to do that then find the the GUI does not allow to associate an ephone-tempalte that is a very important feature.

Unfortuantely the GUI does a bad job at most tasks, the only solution fro delivering professional systems is to avoid it.
