Hi,

I have x2 UCS chassis spilt over 2 sites with x1 vsphere 5 cluster the VSM works on site A and site B doesnt load the VEM. The config is the same on the UCS/Fabric Interconnects/Nexus 5020. The x4 esxi hosts with the issue can still route vm/vmkernal traffic using VSS. I've removed VSM from the hosts and readded them still the same issue any help would be appreciated.

Do you have a topology, it's a little confusing.

Do you have a single 1000v DVS, with hosts split across two sites?

Robert

Yes its a single 1000v DVS with all hosts split acrross two sites

Few things to check/consider:

The VSM HA pair must be located in the same site as their storage and the active vCenter Server.

Layer 3 control mode is preferred.

If you are using Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) on the VEM, use LACP offload.

A maximum latency of 5 ms is supported for VSM-VEM control traffic.

The main one to verify is latency.   What DCI technology are you using?
