6120 Fabric Interconnect - 8 Pre-Installed licenses?

The specification sheet for the 6120 interconnect reports 8 pre-installed licenses are included:(http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/ps10265/ps10276/spec_sheet_c17-665945.pdf)

"There are eight pre-licensed ports (out of 20) included with the Cisco UCS 6120XP. Sixteen pre-licensed ports (out of 40) are included with the UCS 6140XP. All additional ports require a license"

We are currently utilising twelve ports on each of our four 6120 interconnets. If the paid for licenses are removed it shows only six ports with no grace period and the rest are expired.

Ports in use are not sequential (as shown below), and it appears to have 1,2,3,4,17 and 18 as pre-installed licenses with two seemingly missing.

I logged a TAC request but am getting nowhere after many emails back and forth.

Can anyone advise please?

1 (licence-ok) grace period 0

2 (licence-ok) grace period 0

3 (licence-ok) grace period 0

4 (licence-ok) grace period 0

11 (licence-expired)

12 (licence-expired)

13 (licence-expired)

14 (licence-expired)

15 (licence-expired)

16 (licence-expired)

17 (licence-ok) grace period 0

18 (licence-ok) grace period 0

Hi ,

You can check on the following doc to have more information about port licensing:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/unified_computing/ucs/sw/gui/config/guide/2.0/b_UCSM_GUI_Configuration_Guide_2_0_chapter_01101.pdf

Thanks for that but I just noticed two licenses were taken from the eth uplinks into the nexus. With the six taken for downlinks all are present and correct.
