C200 M2 fan speeds

Hi there,

I'm having random issues where the tach fans ramp up to 15k RPM for no reason, and they don't spin back down to normal speeds.

I had the server powered off last night and when I powered it on they ramped straight up to 15k

I'm running the 1.4.3(u) firmware, any ideas?

James,

We had a couple of similar cases in the past, typically related to some internals (like PECI or i2c) communication problems.

If you have not given it a try... re-seat the power supplies.

Or better yet if you don't mind a bit of troubleshooting, open a TAC case. All the bugs I'm aware of have been fixed by U-release or unreproducible.

M.

Hi Marcin,

Sorry for the late reply.

I tried reseating the power supplies, including swapping them round to no avail as the problem randomly persists

I don't think its possible for me to open a TAC case as the server is out of warranty and its a personal server I purchased second hand
