create a vPC from the Fabric Interconnects to N5k’s

am i right in saying that you cannot create a vPC from the FI's to the N5k's if carrying VSAN traffic?

Yes, vPC between UCS FI and N5K to carry VSAN / FCoE traffic is not supported.

Currently we only have FC cards in the Netapp controller, no CNA.

Does this mean we can only implement redundancy at the blade level with 2 vHBA's each connect to different Fabric Interconnects?

Hello,

You need two vHBA configured for each Farbic irrespective of whether Netapp is connected directly FI or N5K.

Multipathing driver in the OS will handle the fail over and provide redundancy for any failures in the upstream.
