ESXi not communicating with the outside network through Fabric Interconnect

I'm having an issue with an ESXi server, installed on a blade in a Cisco B-series chassis communicating with the upstream network through the Fabric Interconnect.  I have the VLANs configured that it should be communicating across and I'm able to get to the KVM manager interface for the servers but I cannot get the ESXi servers to pull an IP, or to communicate to the network with it statically set.

Which UCS version, ESXi version ?

KVM uses the IP address allocated to CIMC, and has nothing to do with ESXi.

Configuration of the ESXi server: did you specify a Vlan ? if not, is the Vlan assigned to the mgt interface of ESXi tagged as native in the service profile ?
