iscsi storage - appliance ports on FI or core?

i got some 10gb iscsi storage (nimble storage) that i would like to presebt to the ucs esx blades.

 

should they be  configured as appliance ports on the FI or should i put them on the 7k core?

both configurations are

both configurations are possible.

If this iscsi box is a shared storage device, e.g. for other UCS domains, and/or non UCS servers, connection to the N7k is the preferred setup.

If this is mainly a test or a SMB environment, direct attachment via appliance port is possible.
