Do i need to specify any iscsi vnics if I am not doing iscsi boot?
what are iscsi vnics for in a service profile?

so if i do not intend to boot from san but I want an hardware iscsi initiator in a windows server, can i setup a pair of iscsi vnics on a service profile?

Hi Tony,
iscsi vnics on UCS are only for boot from san iscsi. If you want windows to access iscsi storage, you only need to add regular vnics on your service profiles with the correct vlans. Once you add the nics you will need to use some software that can allow you to do this. See example below.
