I am running out of time, and I am going to set up a UCS solution tomorrow for the first time. I have a feeling I will have access problems to the KVM console IP subnet.
Do I need to configure the upstream switch in order for the KVM access to work from the management VLAN? The KVM subnet is different from the management subnet. I could also set it to the same subnet. What is the practice here?

The KVM IP Subnet needs to be in the same subnet as the Management IP addresses that you assign each Fabric Interconnect. This is due to the KVM using those network ports versus the upstream FEX to FI ports.
Hope this helped..
