Nexus 5k and 2k consitancy problems

hi,

We have 2 nexus 5k's and 8 nexus 2k's cross-linked with 10gig fiber (every 2k has a 10gig fiber to each 5k using VPC. When we implemented the solution all worked fine but now when i connect a server to one of the ports and make sure both n5k configs is indentical it shows up on the one 5k and down on the other. It also shows "consistency not performed" .All the VPC consitancy checks looks fine :

Some commands :

show vpc consistency-parameters global (shows all is excactly the same)

show vpc consistency-parameters interface Eth103/1/1 (the interface i am testing with - also 100% the same)

show vpc brief is deffirent on 2 switches :

N5k01(vpc primary) :

104448 Eth103/1/1  down*  failed      Consistency Check Not      -         

                                      Performed  

N5k02 (vpc secondary):

104448 Eth103/1/1  up     success     success                    47

Is there a way to force the consitancy check..

I pulled the "vpc peer-link" command off both port-channels and re-applied it. This fixed the issue, but I'm building the configs now and so this is not in production. Pulling that command might take down the system if it is in production.

I have the similar issue too but I haven;t try your suggestion. I wil try and let you know
So that works fine? Strange. But what if its in the production environment and I nned to configure a new Port-Channel with new vlans on it and I hit this issue?  don't understand...I am thinking is it because i didn;t follow the correct procedure and steps. Nexus is driving me nuts!!

any Cisco Nexus experts to comment on this?

you may have noticed it but if a PO is down ... then on either the primary or secondary 5Ks but not on both the status is down/failed.

Wonder what would happen if you enabled the channel-group on physical links and made sure both links were up/up.

I just created 400+ port channels on two different 5K pairs and on one 5K ... they are all "down failed Consistency Check Not Performed" . on the other 5K they are "up success success" even though none of the ports are assigned via channel-group to any "hot" connections.

I bring up a link or two tomorrow and see what happens ( I am of course hoping that this will make all port channels "up success success" ....

this behavior is same on 4.2(1) and 4.1(3) and I'll check on 5.0(2) today.

As soon as I associated one of the port channels to an interface the vpcs showed "up success success" on both 5Ks

I am guessing that your "down" vpc interfaces have not been assigned to interfaces and thus are showing down.

do a channel-group xxx mode active on some random ethernet port and I bet they come up ( only of course the PO/vpc that you tweaked with )
