Nvdia vgx k2 + C240 + UCSM

Dear All,

We have a setup of UCS C240 M3 servers connected to two 6248UP FIs.

We have installed Nvdia Grid VGX K2 cards in C240 servers and when we goto server>adapters in UCSM we only see the VIC card (VIC 1225).

VGX card is installed in PcIE slot 5 and VIC card is in slot 2. (Server type is v01)

Infrastructure firmware is 2.1.2c.A. Server firmware is 1.5.1.

How can we see the information about VGX card in UCSM.

Thanks,

Indika.

Indika,

In UCSM version 2.1.2 we do not have the ability to inventory and show the card in UCSM.  This feature was added in 2.1.3.  In 2.1.3 under Server Inventory in the equipment tab, a GPU tab has been added and the K2 card will be displayed under that tab.

Hi Indika,

In addition to the information Padma requested, could you please tell us if you have 2 CPUs installed in that C240?

If there is only one CPU in the server, PCIe Slot5 won't have "communication to the motherboard" and in consequence this will be expected to be seen.

Indika,

In UCSM version 2.1.2 we do not have the ability to inventory and show the card in UCSM.  This feature was added in 2.1.3.  In 2.1.3 under Server Inventory in the equipment tab, a GPU tab has been added and the K2 card will be displayed under that tab.

Thanks all for replies,

UCSM version is 2.1.2c (I think CIMC version is the same.).

Yes it has two 2.40 GHz E5-2665 CPUs.

As suggested by Steve, will update the firmware to 2.1.3 tomorrow and let you know.

Dear All,

Thanks a lot for all the support,

Upgrading to 2.1.3 solved the issue. As Steve says, VGX card appeared under GPU tab.

Thanks,

Regards,

Indika.
