hello,
what will be the best setup if i'm going to connect 2ports north bound connection and has been applied to port channel. and i'm going to setup 2ports uplink interface for the storage (private switch). All cisco switches.
2x IOM 2104XP
2x FI 6120XP
Thank you.

Hi Dexter,
Since you will have two / multiple uplink switches to which you will have northbound ethernet connectivity, one this which you will ahve to configure is the layer-2 disjoint.
You need to be on any 2.0 version to configure that.
Here are some documents to help you with the details:

Thanks!

Hello Abhinav,
thank you for your reponse.
I just did configuring L2-disjoint but i'm encountering this error "ENM source pinning failed". am i hitting a cosmetic bug?
UCSM version: 2.0(1m)

Hi Dexter,
If you do not have any communication issues then it is something cosmetic .
Did you make any otehr change on the vnics? like change of vlans etc?
./Abhinav

Hello Abhinav,
For now, i'm having issue adding new vlan's on the vnic. only the existing vlan (vlan14) can pass through north bound connection. But i still need to coordinate with the network guy if the newly added vlans already configured on the switch.

Dexter,
check this bug:
./Abhinav

Hi Abhinav,
Thank you so much. i will check this bug and give you update if upgrade may resolve the issue. godbless

To add to this thread, the error message "ENM source pinning failed" means that the UCS Fabric Interconnect, in End Host Mode, is not able to pin the particular vNIC to an uplink interface.
If you are not impacted by the bug that Abhinav has highlighted, go back and check how you are trying to achieve Disjoint L2.
With Disjoint L2 designs, you want to ensure that:
1) You have allowed the same range of VLANs on ALL uplinks that are a part of the same disjoint L2 domain
2) Do not overlap any VLANs across the Disjoint L2 domains
3) Lastly, do not configure a vNIC with VLANs from multiple L2 domains. If you define a vNIC to carry VLANs belonging to two separate disjoint Layer 2 upstream networks, pinning will fail, and a fault will be raised. This is because there is no single uplink interface that is able to carry ALL traffic defined on that particular vNIC.
Some further details about Disjoint L2:
Deploy Layer 2 Disjoint Networks Upstream in End Host Mode
Hope that helps.
Thanks,
Michael
