Question about FCoE Direct Attach and VIC1240

First Question about the FCoE Direct Attach If I have EMC Storage with FCoE interfaces

and I want "FCoE Direct Attach" to FI-6248 "Without Upstream Switch" (MDS or N5K). Will it work ? if I "Enable Default Zoning" in UCS Manager

Second Question about VIC 1240. Speed of Fibre Channel Traffic in VIC 1240.

I know that M71KR has 4 Gbps of FC Traffic and M72KR has 8 Gbps of FC Traffic.

Thank you.

Question about FCoE Direct Attach and VIC1240

Hello,

For the first question, it is NOT supported.

It might work if we enable default zoning but it is not recommended.

The next major release is expected to support direct attach storage.

Question about FCoE Direct Attach and VIC1240

Hello Attavit,

For the Cisco VICs ( M81Kr / 1280 / 1240 ) , the vHBA speed is limited by the physical interface speed.

It is 10 Gbps and system can utilize the whole pipe ( 10 Gbps ) if it available.
