Tx errors on the FC port of the Fabric Interconnect

Hi Guys,

I'm seeing a lot of tx errors on the FC uplink port of the FI ( both the ports of SAN port channel). I'm trying a  EMC SAN boot one of the Blade  and it fails with IO error.

My question is if I have an issue with the LUN or EMC SP port or on the MDS port , does that cause a Tx error in the FI FC port.

Im seeeing the error counter increase when I tried to install this blade. There are other blades installed without any issue. I have chnages the SFP and cable with no luck.

Thanks..Jibby

To exclude any hardware issues, I would associate the SP with a blade, that worked (boot from SAN), and see if the problem moves as well.

Good luck

Walter.

Hello Jibby,

This is clear that's a hardware issue.

Potentialy could be the: SFP (UCS/Storage), optic cord, the FI Uplink port itself or Storage FC port.

At this point you should test one by one of this layer1 related devices.
