UCS port-channel load-balancing algorithm

Hello

I am trying to investigate the packet flow through the UCS. Each Interconnect is connected with vPC to two Nexus 5000 switches. I would like to check which vPC interface will be used by the Interconnect to send the traffic to the other host.

I've checked the port-channel load balancing algorithm and it seems to be configured with "ip and mac address hash".

UCS-B(nxos)# sh port-channel load-balance

Port Channel Load-Balancing Configuration:
System: source-dest-ip

Port Channel Load-Balancing Addresses Used Per-Protocol:
Non-IP: source-dest-mac
IP: source-dest-ip source-dest-mac

When I tried to check the packet flow I received a following output

UCS-B(nxos)# show port-channel load-balance forwarding-path interface port-channel 10 src-ip 192.168.40.17 src-mac 0050.5688.05b3 dst-ip 192.168.40.19 dst-mac 0050.5688.17a9
Missing params will be substituted by 0's.
Load-balance Algorithm: source-dest-ip
crc8_hash: 77   Outgoing port id: Ethernet1/20

As you can see, both algorithms are not the same. The question is, which one will be used for the traffic living interconnect?

Thank you in advance for your answer

Regards

Lucas

One algorithm is for IP, another is for none-ip traffic?
