Group,
Can someone explain how VM-FEX works and specially the limitations you have when implementing it with the UCS 61xx or the UCS 62xx?
for example how many Virtual machines you can create in each B230 blade host that can use VM-FEX?
Thanks

have a look at the below URL, this should provide you alot of information.

Fernando -
The number of virtual machines that you can create on a UCS blade is dependent on the number of links you have between your Fabric Interconnect and IO Module, as well as the number of bytes available for VNTag (fixed length). These two values control the number of dynamic vNICs that can be created for VM-FEX. WIth 4 links, you can create 58 dynamic vNics; 28 with 2 links; 13 with 1 link.
I am not currently aware of any differences in implementing this feature on the 61xx vs. the 62xx. Both support VM-FEX, with the ability to create ports on the physical switch for the virtual machines.

It depends on which Fabric Interconnect you have and the number of FEX uplinks, take a look at this table
And this limitations link - http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/unified_computing/ucs/sw/configuration_limits/2.0/b_UCS_Configuration_Limits_2_0.html
