VM-FEX did not work when guest os is Linux and have over 6 vCPU

Hi experts,

Version info:

Linux : RHCL 6.4 x64

VMware: 5.5

UCSM: 2.1(3b)

The VM-FEX config is fine. When I setup 6 vCPU for my linux vm. The Direct I/O will show active. But if I setup more the 6 vCPU. Then Direct I/O will show inactive.

I have try to find document, but did not get any limition about VM-FEX with guest os vCPU number. Have any one have same situation?

Hi everyone,

I found http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=2058349 . So I try to increase queues number in Adapter Policy. And VM-FEX is active now.

But I still did not have any idea about vCPU number with queues number.... Can someone please explain it?
