VMFEX / VMK ports / QoS

When using vmfex (non high performance) how do you define vmk ports for vmotion, nfs etc and are these also using vmfex...? Is it just a case of creating a port profile for vmotion etc, then creating a vmotion interface and attaching this to the port group with vcentre?

Also, using this mode where should you attached the qos policy? And lastly, when using UCS qos are the policy setting applied at the FIs as well as the adapter or just the adapter?

Hello,

Yes, you can use VM-FEX for vmkernel ports for vmotion ,NFS trafffic. You can use existing port profile or create separate port profile and associate with appropriate vmk interfaces.

Each port-profile can have a QoS policy. CoS marking is done as per the QoS configuration and corresponding traffic is placed in appropriate queues in FI.
