ok,Figured it out and hoping there's a workaround. My account has a symbol in front of it such as #username or $username.

So I'm running ssh 2.0 and also noticed when I logged in using putty I was prompted to allow the rsa fingerprint. Does the Mac not ask for this?

Tried that no luck. Yes using SSH at port 22
