Upgrading the NxOS fixed the problem. Our server guys wouldn't touch this problem with a ten foot pole. Their take on it was "If it worked before the Nexus was deployed, you should get rid of the Nexus."

The problem has been resolved. We upgraded from 5.1.1 to 5.1.4. I'm going to hear about this from the Intel and AIX guys for weeks
