device aliases with interop mode

hello,can I use device aliasing (instead of fc aliasing) when I use a fabric on an ineroperability mode (MDS 9000 directos and brocade switches, interopmode 1) I know that I can't on Series 5000. can I use it on MDS 9000 directos?
