I am using Nagios to monitor 75+ switches and 100+ servers, its simple to setup and allows custom scripts to monitor applications and services.If you have any Linux experience I highly recommend it.

Thanks, for the hint.I was trying to do this remotely via script, and the problem is that as I make one of the two changes ( gateway or IP address ) I loose connection to the switch.I'm going to test copying a new startup-config and then reload the s...
