If you need intervlan connectivity, then you'll need a router or a L3 switch. Only they can perform intervlan connectivity.

If this is the 500 express model, then yes, you can create vlans.Use a web browser to connect to the switch and the menu options are on the left, including vlans.

Thanks guys. I was looking to see if there were alternatives that could be employed, but it sounds like this is the best solution (as long as it is intially implemented correctly)and I can keep the cabling uder control.
