I have a general question. Is there a MAX time a packet will live on a wire between 2 points? (2 sec max?) I tried to find some documentation on this but can't. I'm using PPP Multilink to bundle 2 T1's and on my core router (cisco 6509) I'm seeing unusually high output drops on my Multilink interface. (Not my actual serial interfaces) Que'ing is fifo. I have been looking up Documentation on the NM-ESW-16 module and the Doc's I've read indicated that it is compatible with the 2811 router but when I drill down and try to find specific examples of how to use this module, all I keep running into is doc's on this module being compatible with the 2600 and 3600 routers. Does anyone know where I could find documentation on compatibility for this module or sample config? My problem is, I have a 2811 router with a NME-16ES-1G-P that I'm able to create sub-interfaces (for vlans) off the Gig interfaces that connects to the backplane of the router (gig1/0) but with my 2811 with the NM-ESW-16 I can't create subinterfaces even though I question mark "?" my way through and it says I can. I was wondering if anyone might have any advice. I have a remote site that i've configured for Frame Relay. (it is a standard DS1 over a channalized DS3 back to a cisco 8510 with a frame relay DS3 adapter.)I noticed that if I send standard ICMP packet accross the serial interface I get "normal" response times. But once I start sending larger packets accross the line, my ping times increase exponentially. Just so happens that if I send packets 128 bytes or less, ping times are fine, 129bit packets and my ping times double, 257 bytes or higher and my ping times double again. 1500 bytes and my ping times are really bad. My MTU is set for 1500 byte packets. My thought was packets are possibly fragmenting. I don't know if this is enough information but any thoughts?
