Dennis Holmes is the Mobility Practice Manager for Internetwork Engineering of Charlotte, NC, a Cisco Gold Partner with the Advanced WLAN Specialization providing Municipal Wi-Fi MESH and indoor WLAN deployments to organizations across the country. Dennis joined IE in August of 2007 and was formerly the Director of Wireless Services for Outsource Incorporated a provider of Municipal Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi MESH deployments. Dennis has been involved with Wi-Fi for over 15 years and was one of the first Airespace trained engineers in the country. Dennis has passed the CCIE/W written exam, is Cisco MESH Certified, Funk/Juniper WLAN Security Certified, Cisco Qualified Specialist for Advanced Wireless LAN, and Cisco Qualified Specialist for WiMax. Dennis has designed over 750 wireless LAN deployments surpassing 300 million square feet around the world and currently sits on IEEE Standards Association, IEC TC 62/SC 62A TAG for Enhanced Medical Networks, and Cisco Systems' Wireless LAN VAR Council/ Sales Engineer Virtual Team steering group where he has constant input and influence on the direction of product offerings from the Cisco Wireless LAN Business Unit. Quoted in magazines such as the San Jose Business Journal, CRN, TechIQ Mag, Mobile Enterprise Magazine, CIO Digest, and the Muniwireless Print Magazine, Dennis is a frequent expert speaker on the subject of Wireless LAN solutions, technology, and best practices at tradeshows and seminars across the country and his articles have appeared in several print publications and the world's premier website for municipal wireless deployments, Dennis' business model for municipal deployments utilizing private funds has been touted as a highly viable solution and the likely successor to the Earthlink ISP model.
