7912 phone cant get display screen and not recognised in CME

For the CME techs,

Have 2691 multi platform router connected to 2924 switch. CME 4.1 installed with 12.4 IOS

Can access routers website

7912 phone has IP address, default g/way, DHCP, subnet but not call manager 1 listing/ID under Network Configuration

Can ping phone via 2691 router. Phone doesnt display background graphics but 4 separate messages to do with boot up process as I have found out.

Have reset the router and IP address moves forward one number (in accordance with IP address range setup)

Followed guides so far to this point but need some guidance please.

Messages displaying in a loop are:

Phone buttons flash accordingly

You do not need the tftp commands.

Check thta phones has SCCP firmware, not SIP.

Hi Paolo,

Thanks for your reply. Apologies for not getting back sooner. No the 7912 phone doesnt have SCCP firmware.

Can ping phone from router ok. Have 2 files in preparation for phone

Being bmp2logo and a .sbin file via TFTP server under appropriate directory.

Hostname of phone is compliant with MAC address preceded by SEP

I must just be missing something.

Load files are there..

cme_router(config-telephony)#load 7912 CP7912080003SCCP070409A.sbin
Updating CNF files
CNF-FILES: Clock is not set or synchronized,
                retaining old versionStamps
CNF files update complete

Output of sh telephony-service tftp-bindings...

Did the phone get a DHCP lease or did you manually code the IPv4 settings in? If the former, does your DHCP lease include option 150 of CME's address? If not, you need to define a Primary TFTP server in the network settings. The CM Address gets populated after the phone reads it's TFTP config file.

Be sure you have configured the phone as an ephone, set the appropriate type and MAC address, and regenerated cnf files under telephony-system.

Please remember to rate helpful responses and identify helpful or correct answers.

Thanks for your reply Jonathon,

Yes. From DHCP leaase with option 150. Thats how the IP address has been increasing when I reset the phone.

Phone is configured as ephone via router CLI. Default basis (ie First name first).
