ATA186 with a cisco h.323 gateway

When using a cisco h.323 gateway with ATA186, I couldn't make calls between the two individual ports from the ATA186. And found on some documentations that it cannot be done calling between it's own two voice ports on the ATA186 when using with h.323 gateway other than using it as a standalone unit. Is there any work around for this issue?

There is a workaround. Register the ATA into an H.323 gatekeeper, and make it so that each port of the ATA to register with a separate E164/alias. Then you will be able to call between them.
