Auxiliary Vlan Question

I am currently working with a customer trying to configure an auxiliary port on a 6509 to connect to a 7970 phone and a subsequent workstation. When I type "set port auxiliaryvlan 3/4 107", I receive "Feature not supported on port(s) 3/4". The switch is running CATOS image name cat6000-sup2cvk8.8-4-3.bin. Feature Navigator states that the version supports Auxiliary VLANS. Does anyone know of any possible configuration items that could exist in an overall config that would block the usage of Auxiliary VLANs? CDP is running. Thanks in advance.

Re: Auxiliary Vlan Question

UPDATE: The command is accepted when applied to copper interfaces, but not fiber interfaces. Is the auxiliary vlan functionality implemented differently for fiber interfaces, or not at all?
