bandwidth param in SIP SDP

Hi all,

I have an issue on a Cisco 2811 SIP voice gateway when receiving an INVITE from a softswitch which adds the bandwidth parameters to the SDP: b=AS:64.

If the SDP contains both G711 and G729 with the G729 as preferred codec the gateway chooses to establish the RTP stream always using G711.

If the SDP contains only the G729 codec the gateway answers with a "Media not accetable" message.

I'm supposing that the AS=64 is intended for the G711 codec only, is it correct?

Do anyone know if there is a specific matrix to combine the codecs with the correct bandwidth paramter?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Daniele

Re: bandwidth param in SIP SDP

The gateway may be rejecting the call for a different reason. I.e. The inbound dial-peer not containing the G729 codec.

It would be best if you could upload your configurations and 'debug ccsip messages' from your SIP gateway.
