Cannot resume after holding a call - H323 & SCCP

Hello,

I have a problem with Cisco 7940/7970 with H323, and been searching around with no luck.

My env:

CallManager(CallManager doesn't know about the gatekeeper)

Open Gatekeeper

H323 Clients(MyPhone & OhPhone)

Cisco 7970/7940

What I wanted to do is to use a H323 client to call 7970/7940. Ok, let me explain the problem in points.

1. H323 client(MyPhone/OhPhone) calls 7940

2. Connection established

3. "Hold"(7940) is pressed during the conversion

4. "Resume"(7940) is pressed after "Hold"

5. 7940 is sending voice data but H323 clients are not unable to receive any data

P.S. 7940 is able to hear H323 client, but H323 client just cannot hear 7940 after resuming a call.

Regards,

Yeung

The H.323 client may not be fully supporting the Empty Capability Set (ECS). The usual solution is to introduce a Media Termination Point in the chain. This could be on the trunk between the CallManager and the Gatekeeper. The trunk's MRGL needs to include an MTP resource. How does CallManager know about the H.323 clients; are they defined directly in CallManager?

I have limited knowledge in CallManager and H323. Therefore, I do not understand some of your terms, sorry about that.

So far, CallManager doesn't know about the H323 clients. So, 7940 clients are unable to call the H323 clients.

H323 clients are able to call 7940 clients because OpenGatekeeper automatically detects the Cisco VoIP network.

It has the same matter even I try to "Hold" and "Resume" a call from the H323 clients. H323 is not receiving what 7940/7970 is sending(yes, it is sending as shown on the statistic page[by double click ?]).
