Newbie here looking for some basic advice on moving from a TDM PBX to a Cisco VoIP system. What are the basic Cisco building blocks to serve VoIP and PSTN calls? We don't have anyhing fancy like ACDs, just a PBX with some hunt groups and DDIs.

Thanks,

Simon

Hi, you can read the design guide for ip telephony at:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_implementation_design_guide_book09186a00806e8a79.html

Here you have all the info you need, but basically you have to kept in mind:

- Network infraestructure: QoS.

- CallManager: depends on the numbers of users and apps you'll need a different model MCS-7815, MCS-7825, ... A minimum of two servers (one publisher and one subscriber) to have redundancy.

- Gateway: interconnect PSTN with you ip telephony systems.

- Ip phone models.

- Other apps: with ccm you can have hunt group, but perhaps you need voice mail with cisco unity.

Anyway, at the guide you have all the information you need.

Regards

Hope this helps, if so rate the post.
