CISCO TELEPRESENCE & AUDITORIUM PROJECTION (DMS?)

Hello,

We are working in a proposal of Cisco Telepresence with one of our customers. Besides that, they have a big auditorium in which they want kind of proyecting some of the videoconference sessions (only receiving audio & video, not sending).

I don't know if Cisco has a suitable solution for this need. Could we offer something related to DMS solutions? How could we integrate both worlds?

Thank you very much!

You have a few options depending on what products are involved here. I haven't tested most of these so they require further qualification.

  • The Cisco 4500 MCUs support a ConferenceMe or Streaming feature that allows a PC to watch a conference in progress on that MCU.
    • This stream can even be multicast for integration with DMS Enterprise TV as a channel, in theory.
  • You could probably add an MXE to the call and have it live transcode to a multicast stream that DMS Enterprise TV could pick up.
  • If it doesn't have to be live viewing of the call you could use a TelePresence Content Server which integrates with Show-and-Share. It could record the call, transcode, and post to SnS.
