H323 Gateway Problem

Hello, we have a 2621XM router with 12.3(10)2600-IX-M. We are using it as a Gatekeeper with CCM 4.0.1. For the most part, everything is fine except when our Polycom Units are in a conference that last over two hours. At the 2 hour mark, the Video Conference terminates.

We stopped the Polycoms from registering with the Gatekeeper and this problem goes away.

Thanks,

HARRY

Re: H323 Gateway Problem

Harry, We found this problem too, but had to do with a timeout error on the PIX firewall.By default PIX firwall are set to disconnect all H.323 sessions after 2 hours. No sure if that will help.

Re: H323 Gateway Problem

Hi,

you can influence this in the PIX with the "timeout" command. Have a look at the PIX firewall command reference

Re: H323 Gateway Problem

Can you tell me what you did on the PIX to solve this?

Thanks,

Re: H323 Gateway Problem

Hello,

the commands

timeout conn 1:00:00 half-closed 0:10:00 udp 0:02:00 rpc 0:10:00 h225 0:00:00

timeout h323 16:00:00 mgcp 0:05:00 sip 0:30:00 sip_media 0:02:00

should help to solve your problems.

Martin

P.S.: I didn´t implement this myself, but have heard about it from a collegue.
