I have a simple configuration where I have a video over IP source (vlc server) transmitting mpeg-ts through two Cisco 300-10 switches, which are interconnected by a 1 Gbps fiber, to a destination (vlc client).
I want the first of these switches ("A", closest to the source) to inhibit multicasting over the 1Gbps fiber until it receives an IGMP request from the destination (via the 2nd switch "B", closest to the destination).
Can someone please help me understand how I need to configure multicasting in switch A?
And, is it the case that the default settings in switch B will allow the IGMP from the destination to flow towards switch A?
