I currently have 8 gateways. Three of them are connected to the PSTN the other 5 are at my offices. Each office gateway is setup with pots peers with the phone numbers at that office and a catchall voip peer using DNS lookups for routing. The PSTN gateways each have a catchall POTS and VOIP peer to send the call in or out depending on which peer the call came in on. The PSTN gateways also use DNS for routing. I want to start using ATA186's but they require a gatekeeper to use some of their features. The problem is that a gatekeeper pretty much makes my DNS routing useless since it looks like the gatekeepers can only take registrations from peers that use full E164 addresses. That isn't a problem from my office routers since all the POTS peers have full addresses however I can't figure out how to make the gatekeeper route anything thats not registered to it to one of my PSTN gateways. I need my DNS call routing since it picks the proper PSTN router based on call cost and other things. Which is the other problem. The gatekeeper has no way to do any cost control. It looks like you can tell it to route this prefix here, this prefix there. But typing in the entire countries area codes and prefixs doesn't seem like a good option.
Thanks,
Dave
