MCU 3545

Hi All

I need some information on configuring the MCU, I need both the scheduled and the reservationless meetings

As far as reservationless meetings are concerened, I will register the video CFB in the CUCM and configure an SCCP enabled service on the MCU.

How do I go abt configuring the scheduled meetings??? I know that i need to configure the MCU as a gateway in the CUCM and add a route pattern. but do i need to have a gatekeepr in my environment and register a dummy gatekeeper controlled H323 client??

if i do need to regster a dummy cleint, does that client need to be registered all the time for the RASAggregator trunl to work??

can I have my voice gateway work as a gatekeeper so that I can register thw dummy client? I dont have any other dedicated hardware to act as a gatekeepr.

your help will be much appreciated.

With H.323, you have the services activated on the MCU with a prefix and you have a route pattern in CCM to point to the gatekeeper (or directly to the MCU if you don't have a gatekeeper). The CallManager registers to the gatekeeper so once a call hits the gatekeeper, it knows where to send it. Under 4.1 and newer CCM, the gatekeeper can be used in conjunction with a RAS Aggregator trunk to allow you to DHCP address the H.323 endpoints. Without the gatekeeper, you end up having to use static IP address to get the H.323 endpoints into the CCM dial plan.
