Other Brand VOIP Gateways

System: (1) 3745 with 4-port E&M module and Simens PABX.

(2) 3600 with T1 module and Fujisu PABX

(3) Other brand (Planet) VOIP gateway with Panasonic PABX

Case: System (2) and (3) can communicate successfully but system (1) and (3) encounter problem.

Problem: When I dial from system (1) to (3), my colleague in remote office can hear phone ringing and I can hear ring back tone. But when he pick up the phone, I still hear ring back tone and he cannot hear any voice. After a while, he put off the phone and I can hear busy tone.

Any comments will be appreciated.

can 3 call 1 OK?

What version of H323 is 3 using?

Try configuring this on 1:

voice service voip

h323

call start slow

System (3) can call (1) and (2).

(3) is using FXO card and H323 v2 protocol.

I have tried this comamnd but no improvement, could you tell me what do these commands mean?

This command disables H323 faststart as defined by ITU 11/2000 8.1.7.4.

Faststart was intoduced in H323v2 and has the OLC message containing more setup parameters so there does not have to be as many messages sent back and forth to establish a call.

You can do a 'debug h225 asn1' and 'debug h245 asn1' to see where H323 breaks. You should see some type of disconnect cause in this messaging that may point to why the call fails.
