pots dial peer digit stripping

Hello

I am reading the Implementing Dial Plans chapter of the CVOICE FLS and came across an example dial peer that I'm not sure about.

The example is a dial peer used for 11-digit dialing and looks like this:

Dial peer 91 pots

Destination-pattern 91[2-9]..[2-9]......

Prefix 1

Port 0/0/0:23

The part that is tripping me up is that as I understand it a pots dial peer will drop any explicitly matches digits in the destination pattern, so aside from the prefix of the digit 1 being added, the sent digits would be the atom matches ( .. ...... ).

What am I missing?

Thanks

Re: pots dial peer digit stripping

Answer is that is a wildcats so it doesn't qualify as an explicit match, so those digits are not stripped
