qos for avaya ip phones

Has anyone configured qos on cisco switches for avaya phones?

Is it the same as configuring for Cisco phones or are there differences?

pretty much the same. All avaya ip endpoints and gateways can be configured with whatever cos/diffserv values and RTP UDP port range you need.This is done via the ip-network-region screen on the avaya system. Here's a great docuement:

Also, you can also still use the "voice" vlan command instead of doing an explicit dot1q trunk to the avaya phone:

interface FastEthernet0/2

Description to IP phone and PC

switchport mode access

switchport access vlan 10

switchport voice vlan 11

mls qos trust cos

spanning-tree portfast

change the avaya network regions to conform with the the following cisco network recommendations.

COS DSCP Usage

3 24 Signaling

5 46 Bearer

Also autoqos works well as long as the above is configured on avaya equipment here is another document going over autoqos..a bit old but still good
