I'm following the suggestions/examples in the Enterprise Medianet QoS Design guide 4.0 to build QoS configurations for our 4500 Sup7-E boxes. Beginning on page 2-110 is the explanation and an example of an egress configuration for the 1P7Q1T ports.
What I don't understand about the configuration beginning on 2-111, is what part of the configuration places a particular class in a particular queue? For instance, the colored diagram shows Signaling (along with Network Control and a couple others) in Queue 7. Then in the configuration below it, a class-map called CONTROL-MGMT-QUEUE matches CS3 (signaling). Finally in the policy-map, CONTROL-MGMT-QUEUE is given 10% remaining bandwidth.
With that configuration, how is CS3 placed in Queue 7? Or is part of the config missing from the example?
The short answer is that you don't.... That isn't entirely true while at
the same time it kind of is, but for the most part you don't configure
the softkeys. You enable or disable them via TCL. Here is the long
answer. Be sure to read the whole thing or e...
