replacing router question

Hi,

I am planning to replace my existing 2611 with 2811 (the same # of int) and I am finding a way to easily transfer the configuration to the new one. Will tftping works and easiest?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Re: replacing router question

After editing the interface naming in a text file, use any protocol to copy it as startup config file to the 2811.

Re: replacing router question

Dear George,

Transfering the entire config and IOS is not advisable and cannot be done.

The reason is, 2811 is an ISR Router and has many other features for Voice & Video.

Secondly, the Interface numbers may not be the same

Hence I suggest the following:

Take a Text Copy and do it manually.

This is my experience that I am sharing
