The IPVC-3540-MC10A can use the same transcoding card as the IPVC-3540-MC06A - the XAM06. In the past we have not used a transcoding card on the MC10A blade as the ratio of transcoded ports to available ports was very low - 15 ports to 100 available ports. This is the same capacity that you will get with the XAM06 as well.
We are currently looking at increasing the transcoded ports to 32 for the XAM06 and what will be the XAM10. Plans are to make the XAM10 available sometime in the 3QR 2003
