VIC2-2FXS

Hello,

I have a vic2-2fxs installed on a cisco 2801 on slot 3, i have connected 2 analog-phones on the ports and when I put port 0 off-hook, the port 1 goes off-hook also

Does any one had the same problem?

Re: VIC2-2FXS

Port 1 is paralleled with the pins 2 and 5 of the RJ11 connector on port 0. This is to allow the use of dual line handsets. Sounds like the cable you are using has 4 wires connected (2&5, 3&4 of the RJ11) , and the handset on port 0 is connecting pins 2&5 at the same time as the line on pins 3&4.

The fix is to use a 2 wire cable that only has the very 2 centre pins (3&4 of the RJ11) connected.

Re: VIC2-2FXS

what method of taking port off hook are you using? by picking up the handset?

paste the config info if you can. this can help us understand your setup.
