Voip Issue

i have 2610 router with E&M configured with the Pbx.

The 2610 has a serial line has Voip traffic, the serial line is backed up by an ISDN line.

The problem is that the ISDN line comes up once the serial line is down, but does not route the Voice traffice Plus, when the serial line is up, none of the voice call is route. Need to reboot the router inorder to make it work again.

Could someone provide some inputs.

Re: Voip Issue

Please post your config.

My first guess would be that the dial peer is pointing to the IP address of your serial interface. Once that goes down you won't be able to make/receive calls. Use loopbacks and make sure they are reachable via some routing protocol.

Or, perhaps there is no routing protocol running across your ISDN line?

Why doesn't it work when the interface comes up? Could be a bug.

Re: Voip Issue

Thanks Eric for the response, but the fact is that i am using loopback interface for the dial peer config, hence it woudn't effect if the serial line is down.

Furher i am not using any routing protocols on the BRI, but using a floating static route pointing to the BRI, if the serial line is down.

I guess it's a bug, but cannot locate it at the bug toolkit.

Could anyone tell me if it's a bug.
