2620 - Low voice quality with Nortel - why ?

Hi, All!

Our equipment:

Nortel Meridian 1 option 11


cisco 2620 with NM-HDV+VWIC-MFT E1.

M1/11 connected with 2620 by E1 CAS R2.

Test scheme:


Phone1--M1/11-E1 CAS R2-2620+NM-HDV+MFT--LAN--5350--E1 PRI--M1/81--Phone2

During the call from phone1 to phone2 we have

low voice quality on phone2(noise, fuss)

and normal voice quality on phone1.

How troubleshoote this ?

Help plz!!!!

The first thing is to determin is the voip side is having any problems. Are the issues heard in only one direction or both? You can do a sh call active voice for this call and see what you are getting for the DSP stats. IF you see buffer over flow discards or any mof the concealment counters incrementing, there is probably a QOS issue somewhere in the IP network.
