Caller ID using R1 T1 (CAS)

Is there a way to pass the caller id information from a Cisco AS5850 to the TDM Switch using between them R1 T1 (CAS)?

Hi,

In T1 CAS, only E&M Feature Group B (e&m-fgb) supports called-id (ANI), so you have to check if your switch supports that particular signaling scheme. See:

Hope this helps, if so please rate post!

Actually feature group D is the only T1 CAS protocol that supports caller ID. Refer to the attached note for additional detail on FGD operation and debugging -

Correct, I sady "only" both actually both "feature group D" and "E&M feature group B" provides ANI in T1 CAS.

From the document that I've linked above:

Benefits

Provides the ANI/DNIS delimiter on incoming T1/CAS trunk lines.

Restrictions

This feature is only functional in a T1 CAS configured for E&M-feature group b (wink start)

You are correct, the original message posted had mentioned he was using an AS5850 which did not register :-)

The ANI/DNIS delimter feature only works on the AS5XXX family so looks like he might be in luck.
