I ran the show active voice calls command and got this when I was trying to make calls:

I don't understand why I can't make outbound calls and receive them from the outside. Can someone please help me understand why? Would translation rules be a cause of this? I don't know how to configure them if they are, and i don't understand them much.

I see that my gateway is getting the incoming calls now but my phones aren't ringing or when I dial out the are ringing out, BUT I get this distorted noise. Any ideas?

Have you added the connection plar opx 110 to all voice-ports. If you dont add them the gateway wont accept incoming calls and caller will just hear ringing.

Secondly, in most of your POTS dial-peers you have not configured forward digit . By default the router will strip all digits explicitly matched on a dial-peer and only send the rest of digits.

For example dial-peer having destination-pattern 97800..... and you call 9780012345 will have 97800 removed and rest of number 12345 will be sent to PSTN. This may result in no-response or reorder.

plar opx 110:  you mean the other ext on my network?

Any incoming call on FXO - analog line does not contain DNIS (dialled number) unlike DID on PRI lines. So in order to route incoming calls to a IP Phone preferably to operator, put the following command under all voice-ports (FXO ports)

connection plar opx

I'm confused on which dial-peer i'm suppose to assign this too.

You apply "connection plar opx " to voice-port configuration not dial-peer. Every FXO port has a voice-port created in IOS configuration. This configuration will enable incoming calls to be directed towards a desired extension as configured in

I got outbound working, I'm working on Inbound. So I thought I had the correct configuration for incoming calls to work from the PSTN.... AGH!!

Finally got inbound and outbound working. I tried setting up my Caller-ID but my FXO card does not support it. Also Call Waiting, and having problems adding in calls when i have a active call on the line. I tried searching the administration guide, but I don't know what I'm looking for when it comes to setting up the Call Waiting, Three Waiting (Conferencing) etc.. I don't know where I need to look.
