cannot connect my router by console

Hi,

I have 3825 router and I want to configure it. This router configured once but I forgot my password and IP address of that router.

When I plug the console cable and use the following setting on SecureCRT.

Baud rate 9600

Data bits 8

Parity None

Stop bits 1

But some strange characters displayed on the screen.

Does anyone know what is the problem it is ? How to solve it ?

Try the following for starters:

1) Disable any flow control and attempt again.

2) Turn RTR off, wait a few seconds, and turn back on.

3) Verify console cable and connection. (try another console cable if possible)

solved the problem. That was baud rate. I changed from 9600 to 38400 then I got the link.
