design around Nortel CS1000

our customer opens a Call center with Nortel CS1000 ACD, and PBX. They want to integrate voip with this equipments and propose Nortel Passport 8610 switch as the core switch for voip, and data. Can Cisco Cat 6509 fits into this and replace the Nortel Passport instead?

The 8600 will jsut be a L2/L3 switch. You should be able to use the 6500 to do that funcionality also. You will jus thave to configure QOS on it. You can also configure the 6500 with AF power blades and pwer the phones.
